What it actually costs

Ranges based on an ordinary alpine winter, item by item, per person. No forecast: an honest baseline.

Read this first. Nobody knows what February 2030 will cost. It will depend on demand, and therefore on how firmly the event lodges itself in people's minds. Any site quoting you a price for those dates today is inventing it. What follows is the cost of a week in these valleys in a normal winter — treat it as a floor, not a forecast.

ItemPer person per dayWhat moves the number
Accommodation €45 – €400The gap between a valley-floor apartment and a chalet in resort. This is the item that decides everything.
Food and drink €25 – €110Self-catering versus lunching on the mountain every day. A meal on the slopes costs two to three times a meal in the valley.
Lift pass €55 – €78Large linked areas versus small resorts. Multi-day passes bring the daily rate down.
Ski hire €16 – €32The range you choose, and booking online ahead rather than at the counter.
Return travel €70 – €420Total for the journey, not per day. A car shared between four versus a flight plus transfer.

What that means over a week

For two people, seven nights, excluding event tickets: expect from €1,800 on a budget footing to €6,500 and beyond at the top end. The trip planner works out your own range from your own choices.

The five savings that actually matter

  • Drop one level in altitude. Moving from the resort to the valley floor is by far the strongest lever: it often halves the accommodation bill.
  • Book on free cancellation, very early. You capture an ordinary winter rate before demand becomes visible, without committing.
  • Cook at least half your meals. An apartment rather than a hotel changes the whole shape of the budget, not just the accommodation line.
  • Buy lift passes and hire gear online in advance. Counter prices are consistently higher, without exception.
  • Take the train to the valley floor. For two or three people it often works out cheaper than driving once fuel, tolls and parking are counted — and you avoid changeover Saturdays.
